1. The Foundation of Our Privacy Philosophy

DirMerge is built on a simple and uncompromising principle: Your files and data belong solely to you.

DirMerge is a local-only macOS application. It does not connect to external servers, does not upload files, and does not require an account or registration.

2. Data Collection and Transmission

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data or file contents. Specifically:

• No File Content Transmission: DirMerge processes all files locally on your Mac. No files, metadata, or directories are ever sent over a network.
• Zero Telemetry & Analytics: DirMerge contains no analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, or diagnostic reporting daemons.
• No Network Permissions: DirMerge complies strictly with Apple's App Sandbox. In our entitlements (DirMerge.entitlements), the network client entitlement (com.apple.security.network.client) is explicitly omitted, meaning the application is technically blocked from initiating outbound network connections.

3. File System Access and Sandboxing

DirMerge only accesses files and directories that you explicitly select using the macOS native open panel or by dragging and dropping folders into the application. DirMerge does not scan, index, or inspect any other parts of your hard drive.

4. Purchases and StoreKit 2

If you purchase the Pro Lifetime License, the transaction is processed directly by Apple through the official macOS StoreKit 2 framework. We do not receive, process, or store your credit card details, billing address, or Apple ID credentials.

5. Website Privacy

Our promotional website (dirmerge.com) is hosted as a lightweight static site. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising pixels.
